Line Pressure Drop

08/07/2015 5:35 AM

We have received friction "P" drop calc. for a tube based on Karman and Moody method.

However apart from friction "P" drop calc., few more parameters are calculated and significance of calculating those parameters is not clear. Surprisingly, the vendor who submitted these calculations is also not aware of these calculation hence I am seeking for some genuine help.

Below listed parameters are calculated:

x = Log Re

y =Log Ka (Karman No.)

z = 6+Log E (where E - Relative roughness)

Diff. between (Log Ka - Log Re) is also calculated.

Also value of, z-3 is calculated ("z" as in equation above")

Also value of, x-3.3 is calculated.("x" as in equation above")
