That chart is way out of date. There are no flying monkeys.

Plenty.

"HB 1328 still requires police officers to document the reasons why/how often a department uses any drones, and requires records kept for up to five years.

Despite said Sheriff's Department logging just 21 total drone missions between 2012 and 2014, the FAA itself documented roughly 401."

Total transparency by the upholders of the law. In a pig's eye.

There will be firearms on them before long, in the name of "law enforcement".

I have been following some of the "drone" news and there seems to be a rush to weaponize these drones even if it is a "less than lethal" approach. Most drones are carrying some sort of video or camera equipment so it would all be captured on camera!

I have already designed a drone that law enforcement can use that disables rogue drones when they are flying over a crime scene, fire, natural disaster or an accident and interfering with the official responders.

It doesn't use any weapon, it uses common items found at Home Depot to entangle the drones, capture them and return them to the officer or official pilot.

The police can then review the camera footage on either or both drones and then return the confiscated drone with a citation and a fine or keep it and auction it off later.

(But you know that they would be collecting drones by the barrel full and probably keeping them for themselves!)

Them big blue skies and the definition of freedom. The answer is, 'what would John Wayne do'.

I like to check...

Rooster Cogburn (John Wayne) keeps a Winchester 1892 "Saddle Ring Carbine" with a large lever loop chambered in .44-40 as his rifle of choice throughout the film and is most notably seen using it during the film's climax when he fires it akimbo style along with his Single Action Army, twirling the rifle with the large ...

Rooster was inclined to drink too much and brag about his derring do.

I prefer a scatter gun, as it leaves less to chance.

BTW, I am the proud owner of a Marlin model 1893 take down, chambered in 30-30 Win. with an octagonal barrel, purchased in 1903 by my grandfather and handed down over the years.

Yes, we Yanks love our guns.

It's good that we are in agreement about Rooster's merits .

Share some more about the Martini, I'm slathering in jealosy. When a young kid, a mate and I found an old musket out in the hills of darkest Rutland. The thing was ancient, brit civil war type era, flintlock and all that. My pal's dad confiscated it ('safety' he said - we were too young to reason any different). That time and the gun still fascinates me, not that I'll ever see either again ().

Octagonal barrel ? Is that not a Brit invention ? I've no link to hand, but I've read somewhere of square profile bullets (gun rifled to suit). It sounds so mad that I doubt anybody but us will belive it. I've never even held a gun, so lord knows where I picked up that bit of trivia.

Sounds like a Damacus (sp) barrel.

Marlin, not Martini.

First patent was Oct. 11th 1887.

As you can see, it is well worn, but still shoots very well.

The barrel and receiver are threaded so it can easily be taken apart.

I completely disassembled and cleaned it a few years ago.

It was manufactured some time around 1903.

But, the authorities gonna be sooner or later, take that away. Aren't they? Mr. Nudgent has to do more of the talking and Mr. Ventura too.

When I was 15 my friend got a case of 12GA "noisemakers" from his uncle. They were distributed by some government agency to farmers for the purpose of "scaring birds off grain". They went up about 100' and exploded (about like a cherry bomb) making black puffs of smoke that looked like flak. Add some #7 steel shot and it would BE flak...

I hate drones.

I do not understand why people are getting in trouble for shooting them down when they hover over their house or property.

But if I see one hovering over my house or property...I will find out why they get in trouble.

"I do not understand why people are getting in trouble for shooting them down"

I guess I get a little nervous when a neighbor starts discharging a weapon into the air.

Maybe a pulse microwave gun would be a friendly alternative. ;-)

Yeah - well I can. To Hell with gun rights. They are taken way too far in the rural areas. I have a neighbor who has cleared the woods out behind his house for about 50 yards, and shoots EVERY darn critter that walks into the clearing, be it noon or 3AM. (he is welfare rat) I am a bit tired of this and suspect someday we are going to have a bit of a nasty disagreement about his rights. All I need is additional targets for him, in the air over my house.

It only follows.....When you declare war on something you need an army to fight it.

Since the real army, and the reserve army are both still is busy that leaves militarizing civilian police depts.

Sad but true.
