I think it's cool (heh) that they've named features on Pluto for Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay. Not sure why they've used the name Sputnik, though, or why that name would be so closely associated with the feature named for Clyde Tombaugh.
By the way, there is nothing wrong with referring to Pluto as a planet. Even though it has been re-classified (not 'demoted') as a 'dwarf planet', it is still a planet. Just because a person is a dwarf doesn't mean they are not still a person.

One definition states that it takes about 300 mile diameter accretion before its shape becomes totally spherical...at 1,473 miles diameter, that's almost FIVE times beyond minimum.
Hence, in my mind, Pluto WAS a planet, Pluto IS a planet, and Pluto will ALWAYS be a planet.

Some persons are very sensitive about terms such as dwarf, midget, little, smallish, stunted, etc. I prefer to use the term: size-challenged, that way no planet gets its feelings hurt, and everyone gets a trophy.
After all, we do not expect Pluto to have to compete in the real world when he/she/it grows up do we?
I really do love the effort and great accomplishment of arriving near enough Pluto to take the photos and having the fantastic gear to take the photos. Does anyone seem to get it how far advanced this is over a mere twenty years ago?
Salutos a Pluto! (be very careful how and where you say that, as there could be inferred other meaning if not well heard or pronounced)

Was Lovecraft right, are Ploto and Yuggoth the same planet?
