The fact that he has some black genes has nothing to do with why most people wouldn't give him the time of day. It is not because of race, it is because of his total incompetancy in the job that he has for a short time, although that has been way too long and the dreadful results of his occupancy in the White House and his decisions and mandates will take years to undo.

You're correct about the bureaucrats "selling us down the river" for their self-aggrandizmant for many years already. It is a lack of integrity, morality, honor and personal character that this has happened. So often we look at what someone says rather than looking at the "fruit on the tree" of their lives. If someone can't be trusted in their private lives, you can't trust them in their public lives either. We can't and shouldn't try to separate the two components.

Oh, I would agree that racism is "alive and well", I guess that doesn't really sound right though. It is still present, among all races and in all different directions. It is a sad indictment on our society that people don't recognize the equality and value of individuals.

That isn't to say there aren't differences between different people and races, there are. It is the inherent value of people that is the same.

I am from the south as well and still live there. Racism still exists. I will grant you that there people (from the South as well as from every corner of the country) that are against Obama because of his race. I doubt it's anywhere as many as the media lead us to believe. I suspect there are just as many who support him just because of his race but have no idea what his policies are or what he stands for.

I know of not one single person personally and very very few non-personally whose dislike for him has anything to do with the color of his skin. His policies? Yes. His incompetence? Yes. His arrogance? Yes.

Let's take a look at how Bush (the younger) was treated. The main stream media amplify any negative comment about our current president and frame them as racist (whether they are or not). But were actively against Bush, going so far as promoting untrue stories (look no further than Dan Rather's misleading story regarding Bush's military service for instance). Here are just a few of the things that Bush faced that come to mind:

• Upon Bush taking office, the outgoing Clinton administration removed the W key from keyboards (childish yes, but disrespectful and hardly presidential)
• Being drug through the mud regarding his DUI.
• Service in the National Guard
• Called Hitler
• Called baby killer
• Called a war criminal
  
• Bush was booed at Obama's inauguration.
• 12,000 people in SF petitioned in support of a proposition on a local ballot to rename an Oceanside sewage plant after Bush
• Numerous comparisons between Bush and a monkey
• Harry Belafonte called Bush the greatest terrorist/tyrant in the world
  
• Quotes from Harry Reid - -On former President George W. Bush: "The man's father is a wonderful human being. I think this guy is a loser." ( May 2005)
• Have a look at the images here....and notice the note at the bottom that some of them appeared in art galleries and film festivals.

Obama has done little to deserve respect and that is based on his actions....not his ancestry. A great deal of contempt has more to do with his bowing to foreign leaders, snubbing leaders of our allies, giving up 4 (or was it 5) terrorists in return for a deserter, poorly negotiated nuclear deal with Iran, ACA, immigration, selectively enforcing laws, and lying just to name a few things (notice, none of those have anything to do with race). IMHO, he's done far more harm to this republic than most can imagine.

The West has become so idiotically "politically correct" that any negative comment about a person with brown or black skin is called a "racist, Nazi, Hitler" etc. The words are so overused and abused that they have no useful meaning anymore. Those that use them, see themselves on a higher moral plane in their own warped minds and use these words in an attempt to shut you up. The same people will insist that we are all equal. In which case we should be free to voice our opinions about them. Right? But when you do - there they are again, shrieking the same old racist nonsense. If Obama has "failed" as President, it is not due to his skin color and therefore we should be free to criticize him, like any other President.

It's a pattern that has gone on for a long time.

Even starting back in the 1950s 'we' helped countries in Asia, such as Japan, learn our modern methods of making steel. When they built their steel mills they incorporated the newest technologies up front, and by the 1970s foreign steel was as good, and cheaper, then US steel. Which eventually led to the infamous 1977 'Black Monday'.

I didn't agree with the decision to send US forces to Iraq following the 9/11 attacks. But in a way you are correct, Obama didn't send our troops to the Middle East at a cost of trillions of dollars and thousands of lives. He pulled them out prematurely, at a cost of trillions of dollars and thousands of lives. He inherited a relatively stable Middle East and he has made a complete mess of it. But that's different topic, for a different time.

Obama pushed us mush closer to the drop off point than any predecessor I know of.

Boeing is not sending an assembly plant to China. You may want to re-read the original articles.

Boeing is opening a Completion Facility in China, to complete the 100's of aircraft that are being delivered to this large customer every year. A Completion Facility will install interiors, paint the airplanes, perform the final delivery flights and then deliver the aircraft to the customers.

No technology related to the wing, fuselage, avionics, etc are being transferred.

P&H Excavator sold a large number of their machines to Russia and China not so long ago and a similar labeled Completion Plant was erected for assembly, commissioning, and startup.

After commissioning of the equipment all of the technicians assigned by P&H to man the facility were incarcerated and held at the site until all proprietary technical information was delivered including all engineering files.

The US technicians were held in custody (incarcerated) for over 3 years until the Russian and Chinese government engineers were thoroughly familiar with all aspects of the equipment operation and design.

All proprietary information had to be delivered and verified as accurate to the satisfaction of their engineers.

I cannot imagine that China or any other communist country would expend millions of dollars to purchase any equipment without requiring all technical engineering information to be delivered.

A while back I read a book called Death by China. According to the authors, if your company wants to establish itself in China, it must give up proprietary information, which the Chinese will, of course, use as they see fit. Holding those techs was just China's way of making sure P&H didn't renege on the deal. At least, I imagine that is how China justifies it.

I worked for RCI (retired), we are the main avionics provider. However, China was doing all the software and hardware verification, meaning the detailed requirements (in DOORS, a system requirements capture tool), all the source code for the software and VHDL hardware with comments and requirements rational was transfered to them.

This is all in the name of "share holder value".

This annoyed me, as 80 years of Collins Radio intellectual property was given to them. We would not give this to any state side competitor, so why someone who can put you out of business?

Boeing transfered an existed aircraft design, and China was making the changes it wanted for a regional jet version. All with Boeing intellectual property help.

There is no stopping greed and avarice, especially when it finds a home in the government.

Consider this, there is very little difference between a captain of a pirate ship and a "captain of industry."
