If you don't have any files or folders shared, then no, they cannot. If you have the ability for people to come in and take over your system as if they were directly there, then you have problems. If you have this ability activated, turn it off, then no also.

Also, also, it's a good idea to run a spyware detector. Run more than one. I have yet to find a spyware program that can catch everything. So, like, run Spyware Doctor, then run SpyHunter. Most of it is cookies, but you never know.

System admin can logon to your computer anytime. So yea he/she can access everything on your computer. So don't keep your personal stuff on work computer. Especially illegal stuff.

If you are a lowly User, you cannot prevent your System Administrator from entering your computer and checking your files. The only way you can prevent it is to disconnect your computer from the network. If your computer is in the office, disconnecting will render you useless and, therefore, a candidate for termination. If you keep illegal files in your computer, you are a candidate whether you are connected or not.

Sysadmin can access you computer or malwares can open backdoors on it. You should use a personal firewall to prevent unwanted access.
