Stunning Evidence Now Proves Climate Change is Real

11/07/2015 1:22 PM

Renowned brewer says climate change affecting beer

This is disturbing news to many sportsmen, tailgaters and climate watchers.

Not to mention the guys at the 19th hole.

That's okay. The outright world wide ban of the element Chlorine should fix everything now.

Seriously look it up.

I didn't search, but isn't there some report a bit newer than the 1990's?

If we eliminate chlorine compounds, that means no salt in/on our food...

It also means turning all the oceans to freshwater.

I invite the greenpeace activists to go play with the killer whales... with pork chops tied around their necks!

I see this as good news.

It can only make some beers better as there is no way they could get worse.

Unfortunately, the beers affected are the very best Belgian beers.

Not Keystone, Bud Light Lime, Beer 30, Schlitz, Game Day Ice Ale, Busch Light,Milwaukee's Best, Busch, Iron City and all the other swill will still be brewed.

And the rest of the world would barely notice it: Geuze beers are a very special type of beer where the fermentation is of natural origin. Most other countries prohibit this process and don't allow the result on their markets.

It is important to have the air temperatures below 15°C to have the correct yeast in the beer.

But the result is fantastic: Geuze is the champaign of the beers.

But it is indeed way too hot for the time of the year, night temperature is higher than the average summer night.

I never liked lambic beers.

Best beer I have had is Westvleteren 12.

However, we have to settle for a more economical St. Bernardus Abt 12, which is a close second (They actually had a license to brew Westvleteren 12 for a spell).

Well, the brewing of beer has gone through a number of climate cycles since people began brewing more than 5,000 years ago. They might as well get used to it. 'Cause that what the climate does; it changes. (And besides - sour beer? I hate sour beer. Good riddance.)

I'm more concerned that the folks at Guiness have knuckled-under to the vegan crowd. They're changing the way Guiness is made. http://www.popsci.com/how-is-guinness-going-vegan

You might have to help me with this below graph:

Maybe not clearly visible. (Its from your link from the data link.)

And it shows . . .

Hottest day and coldest day of the year!

Yeah!

Party!

But what does it mean? Average day of occurrence! Aha.

Now estimated it is once a year: Once the hottest, once the coldest! Everywhere where we want to define this!

This leaves a serious impression!

So what does it mean, really?

Thanks for looking. The report is replete with data, the two data sets you presented being most consistent with your common sense mantra (i. e. seasonal temperature extremes). Throughout we note the anomalies, the zoning of hot and cold, etc. and that the majority of data (and population, wealth, etc.) is northern hemisphere. Most of the global thermodynamic engine is latitudinal, but in a "what goes up, must come down" vein, trans-latitudinal seasonal frontal systems shove hot and cold air around and whatever hot air is shoved north to melt summer ice is contributing to the cold area headed south months later...hotter heat "spells", colder cold "spells".

What a piece of crap. Again there is accusations being made before any useful information is unearthed.

I guess the real scientists all along, and one has to hope Exxon has these as well, knew just the thing how big a scam the whole Climate Change talk is.

The only other thing that it will show is that they also knew how hard it is to argue a point against the prefabricated public opinion and the political statements being made.

You will find that even a company like VW has been pushed in the corner based on these accusations.

If you read the article correctly all they have is "a simple, but powerful idea"

If that is all they have then its not even worth waiting for the real deal.

Funny you say that! At the moment we should not know what is wrong!

But I can predict one thing: Exxon will be wrong!

What happens if they find Exxon is a strong believer that global warming is a scam? They will have supported science that wanted to proof that. Bingo we have a loser.

What happens if internal documentation shows that there was reasonable knowledge supporting global warming? Bingo they lose again.

This is a witch hunt.

I will be right!

I have a question for Lyn.

I have in front of me a 1 pint can of Boddingtons, on the rear of the can is a warning: This can contains a pressurized insert, Do not tamper, Even when empty.

Now I tampered, actually I cut the top of the can off and a sperical looking plastic thingy dropped out, I cut it open and could not detect any type of pressureization.

1. Exactly what is the plastic thingy ?

2. And are warnings posted to keep peekaboos part of the food chain ?

My guess is that it is a Nitrogen capsule to give the beer its head, like Guinness.

It's filled with N2 and under pressure while in the unopened can. Somewhere there's a thin membrane part that bursts when the pressure inside the can goes to atmospheric when the top is popped.

Then you get the head.

N2 should not affect the flavor, while CO2 would react with the water to produce carbonic acid. Whether a little more acidity would be good or bad is probably a matter of individual preferences. Within definite limits, I generally prefer acid foods & drinks.

I violated a cardinal rule of CR4 and Googled.

An English pub in a can - latimes

"Boddingtons is foam on the top and creamy flavor on the bottom thanks to an innovation the brewer imaginatively describes as a "widget." When one of the bright yellow cans is opened, the little capsule inside injects a bit of nitrogen to aerate the ale as if it has just been drawn in a pub. You get a sense of immediate vibrancy, with no metallic undertone of carbonation, rather than the faint echo of a soda that's been sitting on the shelf past its sell-by date."

I still prefer a Guinness, PROPERLY dispensed by a bar tender who understands that foam is a good thing. They use bottled N2.

I've watched more than one cute little bar tart pour the foam off the top of a glass of draft (repeatedly) trying to get the glass full of beer.

If you try to correct them they just sneer and call you a rude old f**t under their breath.

Interesting!

...but I'm more into wine than beer. I've always considered foam as a nearly flavorless impediment to drinking the liquid, so I would appreciate the efforts of "the cute little bar tart" trying to give me a full glass.

It's got to be a significant piece of engineering to produce the capsule that holds the N2 (presumably at a greater pressure than that inside the can), but releases the contents when the can pressure drops to atmospheric. ...and produce those capsules for a few cents each.

Ah, but that's the beauty of Guinness. The bubbles actually rise up in the middle of the glass and then are displaced down the sides of the glass to the bottom. That's what is so interesting about a good pour.

And, if left to settle for a few minutes most of the foam dissipates and you're left with a 1/4 inch of foam that sticks to your upper lip as you drink.

Regular beer heads are a waste.

Being formerly in the injection molding industry, the capsules are interesting to me. Guinness has a very small recess with a smaller membrane of plastic that ruptures.

The two halves are spin welded together, presumably in an N2 atmosphere.

It makes small N2 bubbles, just like at the bar.
