Electroluminescent Lighting

07/24/2007 11:37 AM

What is the approx. lumen output(range) of electroluminescent lighting/strips? I have searched elsewhere and have had no luck...thank you.

also, I understand color temperature, but is it related to lumens?! any help would be greatly appreciated!

I've found an answer to my own question. 2-3 lumens per watt. But it is spread out over a large area. Does any one know of a photometric measurement which can predict the lumen output compared to an incandescent bulb? I understand that the self-induced phosphoresence is at a difference wavelength and frequency...I have noticed in personal experiments that the acquisition of EL at long ranges is much better than incandescent(almost 5 times better). Even with smoke, debris(dust), and fog it can be acquired as much as 3 times earlier than incandescent. Maybe the EL light is perceived(by the eye) differently than incandescent so the lumens do not ever matter!?!? Thanks...

OK that was too easy.

A poster that answers their own question.

A least we weren't just left hanging.

My company has been looking into this product and a possibility of being a printing media for us to use. Thanks for the info it will be helpful in the future.
