Such a tragedy for the people of France, my condolences and prayers for all those effected this act of cowardliness.

If there is any kind justice, it should the world countries unite together and put an end to terrorism.

I wish all CR4 members will pray not only for French but for victims in other parts of the world as well instead of telling "it is not in my hand" like (buddhist) UN Secretary General of UN Ban Ki Moon.

Simply because French people have a nation/country & sovereignty of state the incident is high lighted.Imagine the plight of minorities in any country or power less countries like vietnam when attacked by powerful US and similar incidents. That's why I asked for sovereignty of races instead of countries.

Not so much praying perhaps.

Praying seems to be the poison in this brew.

I hope that a sane and efficient response ensues.

My thoughts are with all victims of this ongoing conflict wherever they are, regardless of their ethnicity or personal moral compass.

I fear though, that this is gonna get messy.

A stateless enemy, lying in waiting, living next door,.....I want to cuss.

Both sides in WW2 prayed that they would overcome the other. After 6 years of fighting and an estimated 60 million dead, one "side" did win. So much for prayer. If there is a God, it's quite preposterous for him/her/it to take sides. And there's no guarantee that "good" will overcome "evil" either.

Re: Thoughts & Prayers with France Tonight

As this thread has no engineering content, do we have free rein to comment?

1. Yes I sympathise whole heartedly with the people of Paris and all the other places suffering at the hands of these gullible fanatical idiots.
2. The perpetrators doubtless feel they have no freedom and some sort of grievance, yet they have the freedom and resources to acquire cars gun etc.

3. Their actions will only exacerbate their position. If "IS" really wanted a "State" it would define it's borders, stop trying to expand and start talking.
They create refugees then launch attacks which will cause suspicion of the refugees... what do they want the refugees to do (sorry, I'm being silly even thinking they care about anyone else)

4. Praying? That is going to do no good, as if there were some sort of omnipotent, merciful deity then this wouldn't be happening...
Oh sorry I forgot the catch all get out that "It's our free will that is the problem" and "he moves in mysterious ways"

Religion is fine if each individual would only keep it to themselves.
Yes I know you can't blame religion for the problems, but it doesn't help, it just provides an easy excuse.

Right... RANT OVER
I do have huge sadness and sympathy.

Del

My condolences to the people of France. The 150 plus dead and the numerous others injured will need help for the heart felt sorrow that is coming in the days ahead. I just hope there is justice for them, and that maybe the people of Europe will awaken to the threats in their borders. Here at home I just keep my (knives sharp and the guns clean and oiled) in anticipation of what's next. And hope that I don't have to use them now or in the future. How do you stop people that believe that if they kill and be killed they will get 70 virgins and sit with their God for eternity?

Where are the peaceful Muslims who should to be stopping this?

This will continue until we learn to accept collateral damage as we did in WWII.

The religious beliefs are as mad as any. Part of the failure is to recognize that as many peaceful muslims exists. Islam may seem to attract extremists, but the worst mistake would be to view them all the same.True believers in Islam shed the same tears. For my part, I think religeon is complete and utter codswallop, whatever form. 'You do not embrace my faith, therfore I hate you' is utter crap. Only individuals are evil and acting under the guise of some group belief is complete cowardice.

Del said it - give the bastards no credit and live our lives. Profssional forces will take them out. It may be piecemeal , but bit by bit we can destroy them. Much as I like ripping on French neighbours, I could not feel more close to them right now.

Re: Thoughts & Prayers with France Tonight

My question still stands-- How many more countries will they terrorize before one county ends it all by glassing them and their host country? I'm surprised that Russia hasn't already done so (yet).

I won't buy the excuse of all the innocent civilian lives that would be lost in doing so, it still would be far less than what the cowardly jihadist has killed or maimed innocent civilians of the countries they've attacked so far.

May the people of France find peace knowing the world is standing with them!

Russia is not in Syria to squash IS. Russia wants a controlling share of the Mid East geopolitical power.

Assad and his regime wants to survive. Vanquishing Assad's enemies will make Syria Beholden to Russia.

Iran wants to be the supreme power of the Mid East. Helping Iran secure that position makes Iran beholden to Russia.

IS is just a gnat in Russia's face. They would prefer to keep them partially intact so as to keep Washington occupied with things other than what Russia is doing.

Instead of attacking public it is more meaningful to attack world leaders or UN reps

I am sorry to write that this is one of the most stupid comments I ever read. The question is why attack, if one wants a change there are in CIVILIZED parts of the world other ways and means to do it.

Why kill people who ever they are ?

And this in name of God!

You do not understand those killers. They do not have any religious base they only ENJOY to kill, they use a pretext to satisfy their morbid desires.

If you look at their profile they are petty thiefs, unable to adapt to a civilized society. They try this way to show that they are somebody, that they can impress on other people what they never did in their previous life.

I maintain my opinion. Your justification shows your narrow horizon.

From my side no more comments I said what I had to say and that is all.
