Back to 9 Planets?

12/12/2015 7:42 AM

Well, many will cheer that news, but it doesn't have anything to do with Pluto or its status.

It seems astronomers have found what might be another planet some 300 AU from our sun that is part of our solar system.

The planet is about 1.5 times the size of Earth and if true, would round out our known solar system back to 9 planets.

Read about it here.

Pluto's long distant (pun intended) relative, Rover? (wink, wink)?

Interesting. So exactly where is the edge of the solar system? I think some astronomers are always "on edge."

Isn't it weird that Astronomical Unit and gold have the same abbreviation?

Perhaps the number of planets is being determined by an accountant rather than a scientist.
