Engineering Student, Connecting w/ Engineering Community

I am a student that is interested in becoming a Mechanical Engineer I am looking for a forum where I can connect with a community of like minded individuals. I have created this post with the intent of meeting someone in the Engineering field that I can interview for a class project, but I also hope to use this site as a tool to study the different concepts, thought processes and theory used in Engineering.

I don't know why Lyn's comment was marked off topic, those are all good websites for what the OP was asking for. So what if they are not on this site. That is just small-minded thinking and I assume it is the Moderators who marked off topic. Bad Form!
