How to detect the vanadium chemical component in the vanadium alloy?

How to detect the vanadium chemical component in the vanadium alloy? The vanadium component is less than 0.2% in the whole alloy. What kind of machine is best? What method is good one?

The presence of the element can be checked by Spark testing. But if you want to check the exact composition interms of PPM or %, you can use AAS / Vacuum Emission spectroscopy. But both the test methods requires master samples for calibration.

You may want to look into X-ray Fluorescence.

Many different methods, depending on how, when, where you want to do the testing. ICP (inductively coupled plasma atomic emsssion spectroscopy) is fast, precise, repeatable, but strictly lab only and not cheap.

THere ARE portable 'field testing' hand held testers used for 'Positive Material Identification' of the various alloy steels--to ensure the fitting, pipe, etc are what is specified and labeled.

Portable analyzers for trace element analysis via 'spark testing' are also available.
