Skyline Again

02/04/2016 7:53 AM

most of the over 2 million residents of this area speak English (sort of). you get extra points if you know why it is known as a city of light?

Perth Australia. The residents lit their house lights when John Glen passed over on Friendship 7 in 1962

why do certain annoying idiots insist on responding to your threads with pictures rather than communicating like an adult with text?

Before insulting SE, did you even stop to consider that posting that picture shows he knows the answer, without giving away the game?

No, of course you didn't.

I don't know who you are behind that Anonymous mask, but Admin does; and I hope they stop your abuse of this site and other posters.

Why do we allow anonymous posters again?

As can be seen they have no communication skills, no modesty nor imagination.

Why do the reflections of the buildings appear to be different colours to the buildings?

Because the reflections are not of the buildings, but of lights.

Re: Skyline Again

I'm not sure about that. After a closer look at the photo, I couldn't see any colored lights along the esplanade that could produce all these colored reflections. Beside that, some reflections seem to be consistent with the buildings above them (e.g. the blue building at the far right of the picture) while others are not. Although I may be wrong.

Good one! So the reflections are of lights. The reflections indeed are mostly NOT the reflections of the buildings themselves, but of the lights, which may or may not all be mounted on those buildings.

Hi Randall. Yes, you are right. The zoom on this image helps a lot. The colored reflections are caused mainly from intense colored lights (illuminated signs) on the top of the buildings. So, this must be an original (nor processed) image.

Re: Skyline Again

Yes, that bothered me too, but its either that or its a doctored photo, which is highly likely.

In either case, I'm pretty sure the reflections are not reflections of the buildings shown. All visible reflections are reflections of light, either real or computer-generated, so the second half of my statement still holds.

Yes, that's a good question. This doesn't make sense. Probably the photo is "color processed" for a more intense impression.
