The thing I would like to refer to is that although Facebook has a number of teams who deal with abuse reports on their site ( we are meant here to two teams, namely "Hate and Harassment", and the "Abusive Content"), nevertheless, there has been an increasingly great number of FB accounts with bad, obscene contents.. I think this is an evidence that they don't care as long as nobody reports against such accounts.. In other words, they follow the old saying which goes ((keep the donkey where its owner wants it to be))..

Facebook has over one billion users (well, one billion minus one, since Andy Germany quit). Can you imagine what it would take to monitor the postings of one billion people?

The handful of CR4 moderators, who volunteer their time, have a tough task monitoring THIS place. Although things seem to have calmed down since that bathtub incident.

Beyond that, a lot of Facebookers all over the world are passive in terms of their interaction, I mean, they tend to receive others' thoughts/photos/news rather than sending theirs... On the other hand, the comparison between this forum and FB in terms of the "monitoring" task is unreasonable... The work at CR4 is done voluntarily (at least this is what I think), but FB employs workers to keep an eye on all things published on their website!!

Actually, well written software can alert the necessary people to certain, well selected words, phrases and sentences, so they do not have to search by hand.

There is no way that such sites can be checked out manually.....

Major Governments do it every second of every day to catch terrorists.....it is nothing new. They follow emails, text messages and spoken telephone calls, all with software on computers. It is very common and very refined.....Its been complained of many times by many people, including Mr Edward Snowden!!

A computer professional for the CIA if I remember correctly!! But basically the US Government....He is still "on the run" from the US Government!!

Furthermore, the BBC reporters used the FaceBook "Report Button" to name and shame and get the Pedophiles and their unfortunate comments removed!

FB did not need "to go looking" THEY WERE TOLD!!

BUT NO ACTION WAS TAKEN BY FB on any of the BBC "report Button" actions!!!!

Now that is a real problem....

So no matter how many people there are members in FB, suspect reports were simply ignored or assumed to be OK, so the software they use appears to not work properly.....nor do the people doing the work either....

Anyone here who has children, who are suddenly involved, for no apparent reason, on Pedophile websites, whether FB or other ones, quickly gets a different view of this problem, I guarantee that!!

I have seen so many of these happenings on the UK and US news broadcasts. Just because someone posts for their friends, on what is supposedly a safe Forum, whoever does not agree cannot simply call them stupid...

Misinformed is probably better and certainly far more friendly.

My Daughters do not post photos. Not because of anything I have said, they told ME first, a long time ago!!!

Maybe it's a sting operation by law enforcement...It's a common strategy to offer illegal substances or goods for sale, and then arrest the suspects caught in the web....
