Antarctic Research from Home

04/07/2016 3:22 PM

Want to do research in Antarctica without the hassle of travel and dealing with cold weather? Participate in PenguinWatch 2.0, where you can review some of the hundreds of thousands of photos taken by cameras at 100+ sites in the Antarctic. The project helps track the size of the penguin population.

Crowd-sourced research is nothing new and this project seems interesting. I haven't looked at it in depth but saw a news story about it today and thought I would share.

Check it out here.

I recall they did this last year. I played around some with it in my spare time.

I've participated in a few. You need quiet time for this.
