Here's an article about that. When they jump out of the water, all the juice goes through the predator instead of getting shunted by the surrounding water. They detect intruders by conductivity and ignore non conducting objects.

Sounds like a lousy pet to have, as far as I am concerned. How come we don't work on the released nile monitor lizard problem in Florida before they totally run amok? How come nothing much is being done about the invasion of the Giant Asian Hornet into North America? Nobody knows, or cares that they don't know?
