Substation Design

08/19/2016 3:47 PM

Hi,

Are the following steps sufficient in electrical substation design?

1. Load MVA/kVA determination.

2. Transformer MVA capacity based on load MVA.

3. Then other equipments can be suitably chosen.

4. Single bus / double bus can be suitably chosen by voltage levels of substation.

5. Depending in the available land area and its orientation - equipment / accessories location has to be managed, clearances to be maintained.

Regards,

3.1 - coke machine, coffee maker, rest room, break room, snack vending machine, and domino table.

5.1 - weedwhacker.

I'd say more like this:

1. Load MVA/kVA determination, by engineering experts.

2. Transformer MVA capacity based on load MVA, determined by engineers.

3. Then other equipment can be suitably chosen.

4.Then a miracle happens.

5. Single bus / double bus can be suitably chosen by voltage levels of substation, after afore mentioned miracle happens.

6. Depending in the available land area and its orientation - equipment / accessories location has to be managed, clearances to be maintained, and the seas parted to make sufficient room.

7. Look on Google for "substation design guides" and read them.

Better yet, go to school.

I too would post as an Anonymous asking something like this

"It" claims "It" did, or at least on the school register "It" did. The Million Dollar question is, did "It" study the text books and take lecture notes? Obviously Not. Hopefully "it" won't kill themselves or wipe out the National Grid.

I don't claim to be an EE, but I do know when I'm swimming over my head

Well if he goes to the school I went to for EE (NDSU Fargo ND) he ain't gonna know a damn thing more about EE worked when he's done than when he started.

Heck if his experience goes like mine I am fairly sure he will come out even dumber than he went in for his efforts.

(But they will have gotten a few $10's of thousands more tuition dollars to burn up on their sports programs and that's what really matters to them.)

You must still be waiting for your miracle to happen.

My Ex left via her own free will. I think my miracle has been cashed already.
