Actually this was proven in a textbook titled:

"Anonymous Engineering", by A.P. Eng III

A.P. is a member of Engineers Anonymous.

The initial factor chosen was 0.5, but it omitted part of the fudge coefficient of gravity, so it was bumped up to 0.6.

Was it a 12-step proof?

One can easily assume that is was indeed a 12-step proof, Proof # 180.

I was spoofing the AP #1 fellow. 12-step refers to Alcoholics Anonymous (or in this case, Engineers Anonymous) and proof 180 refers to 180 proof alcohol (the highest alcohol content possible without breaking the azeotrope). 180 proof is basically 90%. Proof = 2 x alcohol content in percent.

Moonshine (white lightening) is 180 proof, sometimes less, but never more.

one needs sour mash, and a still to pass that course, and then after about the 4th glass, the standard will appear before your eyes, in duplicate.

haha, I believe that is the stated joint efficiency....and it comes from the material used the construction parameters required by applicable code for the intended use of this tank...
