I need to make or buy a PICONET (BlueTooth) device "Master", that I can use while mobile, to send Audio signals to a BT (BlueTooth) headphones.
You would think that its easy and many companies sell transmitter units to do just that on ebay, quite cheaply!
But they are ALL it would seem) "SLAVE" devices, and they need a "MASTER" device to allow pairing, but I have not yet found at any price, a company that sells BT headphones that can be used in "Master" mode.....no built in screens!!
I have looked at some BT chips, and if I understood the data sheets fully, it could/should be possible to build a device, using a PC linked to it either via RS232 or USB, to "organize" the pairing, and that once paired, the PC is no longer needed provided that when it is switched on, the Slave device is already powered on, they will "pair".
What I am looking for here (and in other places on the IoT), is help in a practical way, tips etc., from maybe someone who has actually done it!!
Even knowing of a transmitter device that works as a master, or can be switched between master and slave, and that is not too expensive, would be great.
I should add detail that masters can only pair with slaves and vice versa....masters cannot pair with masters and slaves cannot pair with slaves.....it took me weeks to find out just why!!!
I find it strange that it appears that nobody has thought BT functionality fully with respect to devices made?
It appears that basically, only BT master devices are in phones, GPS, PC, and tablets and the like, all with built in screens....No screen = always slave.....
I hope I have made my problem clear, but please simply ask if I have forgotten any relevant detail....
I wonder how many other people around the world have bought a BT transmitter or receiver and found that they could not pair it for some reason....I sent mine back, as the sellers (all of them!) are totally useless and do not have a clue how Bluetooth works.
There is a reasonable explanation here for anyone interested:-
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluetooth
Tom's hardware has also got a reasonable website and there is a BT Forum I have joined.....
But I simply cannot believe I am having such problems.....
