Solar Storm Underway

I hadn't heard about this storm until today. It's evidently serious enough that the President has issued an order to prepare for "severe space weather."

Oh yeah. Have to be out on the bike tonight in the woods - here comes those pretty red and green curtains of light. Best Aurora I ever saw was from the saddle of a bike deep into the woods. Thanks for pointing that out.

Last night out here in North Dakota we got a great Northern Lights show for about 45 minutes.

Even with all the truck and tractor lights in the field while doing sugar beat harvest it was clearly visible!

Cloudy tonight though.

No. It runs 24 hours a a day except for weather shutdowns like too warm, too cold or too wet.

I drive semi truck for the noon to midnight shift.

Thats old school.

We do mostly lifter to dump cart or live bottom wagons then to trucks.

Wagon going to trucks.

Unloading into truck.

~25 ton truck load time ~3 minutes.

Or dump cart.

Truck load time with two ~12.5 ton cart loads ~40 seconds!
