Brass steel battery energy density ~20 Wh/kg versus lithium ion 100-265 Wh/kg

Brass steel battery power density 20 kW/kg versus lithium ion 240-340 W / kg

Brass steel cycles 5000 versus lithium ion 400-1200

Brass steel cell voltage 1.8 volts versus lithium ion 3.6 volts

So, less energy storage but higher power output than Li Ion per unit weight.

Longer lasting than Li Ion

We'll see how it pans out...

Need to know the density of a Lithium Ion battery, as it's quoted in Wh/L. Presumably it's rather more dense than water. Alternatively, need the density of the steel-brass battery, and work back from Wh/kg.

Has anyone heard about a battery technology called "Coal Water" battery? It apparently uses hi-purity coal, in a special water compound to form the matrix. Had some stainless passivating/pickling done at a company who has the innovator of this tech as a client. They were doing some very Hi Tech plating on the plates for the system. Out of Chatsworth Calif. Says the movement of power out of the battery, creates a flow across the terminals that creates more power as it goes. Potential recharge system needs far fewer large recycling charges, thus more efficient. Just the messenger, asking questions, --No bullets necessary...

Had not heard of it, but when recently connecting my recent electrolysis cell that uses catalytic carbon (made from anthracite), with calcined anthracite electrodes, there was a substantial potential on the electrodes (without applied power) such that resistance measurement using DVM was not possible. Interesting.

The Company I mentioned is called "Advanced Combustion Technologies", out of Chatsworth , Ca. Search of the website shows a lot of secrecy, with no descriptions other than what is required by law. The fellow at the plating company mentioned that there were battery company's lined up at their door trying to get a foot in. They supposedly have a future contract with USPS for 150,000 trucks, to be powered. They go public early next year .

We'll see! Might be the next big thing or the next big bust...

Do they have stock?

If so I would love to buy some but then if I do given my near 100% perfect stock track record of companies crashing and burning like a fighter jet in a nose dive at 100% throttle maybe not.

I know exactly how you feel !! I have repeated the same tendencies, over and over. I am waiting for the instant/ powdered water stock to go up.....

My sister wants engineers to come up with something the size of a marble that one drops in the gas tank, and it instantly fills the tank with premium grade gasoline.

I suppose there could be a different marble for diesel.

It makes a good joke, but an impossibility, unless it pulls something out of thin air.

Didn't I read about these pills in the back advertising pages of Popular Mechanics, Popular Science, Hot Rod, and the like?

One Editor took all of the claims made by the ads for carburetor add- ons, oil filter systems, oil additives, gas additives, exhaust system changes, fuel magnetic in-line systems, etc, etc, and came to the conclusion that if he put ALL of them on his car, and if they collectively added up to to all of their claims, he would be making gasoline, and be able to drive to the pump, add gas, rather than pump it, and pocket the difference.. Gotta love it...
