ANSYS Gravity Analysis Problem

08/14/2007 8:06 AM

Respeected all

I was doing Analysis for the large diameter and medium THK cylinder in ANSYS. The analysis was about to find deflection in the cylinder (which lie on ground surface) due to self weight.

I had prepared 3D model of the same. and selcted Solid45 element.but haven;t got the solution. only Element Solid95 is giving solution.

so. May i know which other Elememt could solve this(self weight) problem. And what should be the real constant for them.

Thanking you

Regards

vishal

I'd always use a shell (thick shell or plate perhaps in your case). Solids are the element of last resort (and tetrahedrons the last, last resort)!

I trust you've got gravity (accel'n field) and some area of restraint in your model?
