I know that some bathroom scales and kitchen scales use a multi load cell system, I am curious how these scales work?
Are the multiple load cells each equal to the maximum load of the scale (e.g. a 100kg scale has 4 100kg load cells)
Or do the load is it made up of multiple smaller load cells so a scale containing 4*25kg load cells could weigh upto 100kg?
If this is the case could you make a bathroom scale more accurate (to 1g resolution) by using multiple smaller load cells with a higher resolution rather then using the large load cells.
Cheers.
