Flushing and Cleaning of Cooling Medium System

08/16/2007 2:40 PM

Anyone know a company that has experience flushing and cleaning cooling medium systems onboard offshore oil production platforms? The system we have consists of carbon steel piping with a 20/80 TEG/Water mix for cooling medium. The overall volume of the system is 160 m3. The system was not commissioned before start up, an so we have been having some problems mill scale that was not removed.

Hi Saltwaterrabbit,

You do not say where you are...we have been doing flushing of boilers and small to large cooling systems. The range of cooling systems range from engines of gensets to compressors with both cooling towers to large type radiators. We also have flushed with good results tube and shell systems so a little more information and we could point you in the correct direction.

You Need a "Common-sense" expert hyraulics contractor.

If you cannot find one ,DIY

Add max. allowable Alkali while filling up a fresh

what is TEG?

Some Ethylene Glycol?

Too Cold there? Make sure this TEG is compatible with the Alkali
