Space Ravioli

04/05/2017 8:43 AM

It's really weird to see such geometry as this in space. Then, I cant give up the possibility that there are square or polygon shape orbits out there. Or, it's just me?

I'd really like to hear its genesis. Are there brilliant guys wanted to show or theorize how it came to be like that? We have no idea what is out there beyond. May be its true, there are planets made out of cheeze and pizza. We don't know.

Ever seen a bathtub ring? That equatorial ridge was formed in much the same way as a bathtub ring, except it had millions of years to form, and on the outside. As Pan slowly rotates, errant bits of ice from Saturn's rings on either side stick to it. Some bounce off, some stick. Some that has stuck sublimates in the vacuum of space. As that ridge sticks out farther than the rest of the moon, that's the part those bits encounter first (Saturn's rings at that distance from Saturn are only about 10 metres thick). The net result is that equatorial ridge. Nothing magic here.

Planets made of cheese and pizza? I said it before I'm often unsure if you are making a joke, mocking science or are completely clueless.

AFAIK the composition of Pan is not significantly different from the other shepherd moons of Saturn. If it was I'm sure it would have made more news. To my eye it appears that Pan was previously two moons of slightly different consistencies and densities that merged in a collision.

Seriously?

The best way to get cheese & pizza on a planet is first get to one that rains diamonds and then call up Elon Musk and have him deliver. And don't forget the tip, maybe an extra 1/4 ton of diamonds.

There is a reason Pan is shaped like this, it's a ring shepherd.

Sorry, no mystical cheese filled explanation.

Ever thrown a rock? Did it follow a trajectory consisting of straight-line segments, each connected at a sudden angle, like a polygon? No? What did it do instead? Follow a smooth curve? Well, the same physics govern orbital motion.

(objects in this mirror appear larger than real life)? No, he's just lost out there in left field space somewhere. Not sure of his religious belief's but he does seem to re-incarnated himself quite often! And, what's really scary is he's closing in that 500 post- that will bring him a "Guru" status. What's going to happen with the status of CR4, loose creditability amongst the Engineers?

Gutmonarch, I would like to ask you a serious question or questions.

Sometimes you make a post or a thread that actually is good or sounds intelligent, but most are not. This would have been a good thread about Pan until you added wondering about square or polygon shaped orbits. Then you add planets made of cheese or pizza. I have seen a few replies from you on other threads that should have been good answers, but most are ridiculous and ludicrous.

Then there are the many replies you make that seem like you are deliberately trying to get under the O.P.'s skin, which you do well. You have been banned, what 6 times now?

I just want to know why? A few of your posts and replies make you seem intelligent, but most do just the opposite.

I don't think you are as big an idiot as you try to imply, why do you do this? Why can't you just play nice with the rest of us? Do you thrive on the dissension?

Watch me when I posted alot of replies. I guess, too much quantity does not go with quality. Nah, just like James, we are lonely people at certain times.

Ahm, the cheeze and pizza stuff are parallels to finding one habitable planet in the universe. It makes difference when you said the formal quest but just about the same probability of finding cheeze and pizza stuff in the universe. I guess because we talk about ravioli, similar things are just happen included in the menu that's why.

There's a guy here who's pseudo name is Out-of-the-Box( I like that idea). Sometimes stupidity leads to great discovery, but most of the time it did not.=) Oops, sorry my mess.

I asked if people thought life existed outside of this planet, not if other planets are made of cheese or pizza, try posting a thread asking if anyone thinks there is a chance of extraterrestrial planets made of cheese, lets see where that gets you.

That fact that we have meteors from mars that appear to have fossilized microbes in them tell me we have a better chance of finding extraterrestrial life then finding extraterrestrial cheese.

I'll say it again, this should have been a good thread, with interesting subject matter, why add the silly stuff to make non credible?

Extraterrestrial microbes are essential to finding extraterrestrial cheese...second only to an extraterrestrial source of fat suspended in a sugar solution.

What happened to your one 'Good Answer'? Looks like somebody searched it out and marked it OT. I seem to recall seeing 'Good answers: 1' under your name yesterday and it's been there a long time.

For what it's worth, I think somebody going back and doing that is petty and mean-spirited. There's no need for that here. That is something people do on the open sewer that is Facebook. Why bring it here, folks?

I absolutely hate facebook with the fury of a thousand white hot suns, that is how I caught my ex in her affair. Most of my family younger than me think it's an appropriate form of family communication, and they get pissed at me for not replying to their requests, they don't realize I log onto facebook about once every 3 months, mostly for my younger 2 kids. What happened to phone calls?

Facebook is like a sure catalyst to egoistic showdown. It's actually hilarious to some point. Facebook is like a radio drama program on visuals. People are posting what they do to some point exaggerated in extremes. There is no more privacy in there. Some couple in there post how they kissed and it came to mind what is only lacking there is them posting how they make love in bed. While some comments with flattery. It's silly

Pride is somewhat a nature of every man. Every body's guilty of that. Facebook as a government tool is brilliant.

I used my facebook for other useful purposes other than self promotion.

GA, doesn't matter much to me, after all. My best GA as someone else's name is only 11. I don't mind. Giving a GA here is like voting in politics, which certainly I don't like.

If you try to look "good answer". It does mean you make a good answer but here's the thing, does it mean you are right or correct? Nope. The truth in nature for most behaves like binary systems. That's either right or wrong, true or false, yes or no stuff.

The finale of all inventions is simply that if it work or not and there's no good answer on that for sure.

What time is it in the Philippines right now? Shouldn't you be sleeping? We are trying to have your back, yes you can be aggravating, but you do post a good answer here and there. We think it's crappy for somebody to take it away just because of your other posts.

Oh, Oh, now you have 2......hmmmmm, how did that happen?

6:54 am here now. I am quite a bit busy doing some research until this cr4 thingy is like a chronic disease. And, we are all infected, this sure has worst effect than facebook to some point.

I wonder how Lyn would feel right now. He must have some trouble on withdrawal syndrome right now.

Sounds like maxtormaguro. I wonder if I have used that name here. Guro or non-guro is just fine with me.

Oh, I've been here a year long before you. I enjoyed much the humour of the fellowship and find advises on some of my questions which is greatly useful. There are nice and oddly nice persons around here. I certainly enjoyed each character.

"entropy" I'll leave that one alone. I have to give him the benefit of the doubt, for now anyhow. He seems to have come back down to earth with some of his posts. But his past track record ..... he has a lot to overcome. I am glad to see he's "trying" to be legit

I've had my wings clipped a few times but I haven't crashed burned yet and that is a yet ...

The speaker says "Pan's ridge is not uniform like that of an alien spacecraft." I think she has seen too many flying saucer movies.
