Dear my friends What’s your opinion about grade of cast iron for pump piston ring application? GGG50 or GG30?

In reference to what standard? Yes, piston rings may be cast, or ductile iron, or even wear resistance carbon steel (given the springiness is suitable).

I have no data to suggest one grade over the other, and no data suggesting ring or cylinder durability under any particular given set of conditions.

Why don't you consult further with your proposed supplier?

Then get on the phone to the supplier and ask "why?".

Hi Maisam,

Welcome to CR4.

Blind links - links with no explanatory text or indication of where they lead - are frowned-upon and probably why the admins removed yours. Spammers post links that can sometimes have malware payloads and so they're just too risky.

Next time please supply some sort of explanatory text about what the link leads to and why. However, if you want readers to read the text you posted on LinkedIn, don't link to it; copy and paste that text here.

Best,

-AW

it is oil casting, a cylinder is cast in oil casting and rings are mfd from cylinder, I do not remember the grade.
