Yes, I could do that, but $ 1.8K to $3K compared to $300.00 to $500.0 in parts for a car that is going to get banged up by a new driver. No Brainer..

The White ones in Gulf Shores Al, & Blue Ridge Ga. look just like it.....Less the trim..

Yes but how much time and effort have you put into locating the parts....buy a used one take the parts off and sell the rest of the parts, you should be able to get your money back....or just keep it to replace parts as needed on the one you have, as it's " going to get banged up by a new driver" either way you'll be ahead ....Maybe you can find a better one, more complete for $1500, and sell the one you have to make up the difference....

OR, you could get your sheet metal plastic skills up to date, and affix some cheapo plastic parts with phonychrome on them and there you go! It is either a go or a Nova.

Houston area, so a lot were sold here. In fact Houston is one of the Imports where they all come in for the USA.

I asked the same question of the scrap auto / recyclers I called when they said they no longer had that model / year on their yards.

After getting a car or truck, they keep it on the average 18 to 24 months. They say after majority of the major parts are stripped off the cars they are then crushed and sold as scrap steel to recyclers by the pond, who shred them and ship the steel overseas so they can then be recycled in to new and aftermarket products some of which are cars. Cars over 12 yrs old are very hard to find parts.

In my area of town there are 12 salvage yards in a 5 mile radius, of those I have found 9 of the model I needed, most picked clean. Their biggest customers are DIYers like myself, small independent repair shops, and body shops who have customers willing to receive "Recycled / Refurbished parts in their repairs.

I bought two front "Aftermarket" new fenders for $65.00 for the Pair and had them in stock, where the Local Honda dealers wanted $125.00 for a New One and 6 wks from Factory.

Again, I got my car FREE... If I spend $1K into it restoring it, That will be about the market value of it, And I will know the True condition of it is since I did it all.

That is one of the items (Timing Belt Pulley, Water Pump Kit) Along with Spare plugs, Wires And Distributor, I am going to changing in my restoring job. .

In my experience, you have to keep checking regularly at the junkyards. They have cars going in and out on a regular basis - your model will probably show up at some point. Hopefully you get to it early in its tenure there, so you can salvage the parts you need. Just keep trying... Good luck.
