Have Any of You Been Watching the Show Genius?

Einstein: The Life and Times, by Ronald W. Clark (1972) is one his better biographies.

I think the show is based on Einstein: His Life and Universe by Walter Isaacson (2008)

Subtle is the Lord, by Abraham Pais, is a classic older biography.

I'd be interested to read what other CR4 folks think of the show. I really wanted to see it but we don't get the National Geographic channel.

Anything new, different, and not disgusting, is welcome...Even if mildly interesting it's better than at least 70% of programs available....of course to follow anything nowadays with 5 minutes of program followed by 15 commercials over and over is a challenge...

Right! I don't have a DVR, so I can't skip across the ads, therefore I've basically stopped watching TV.

I gather that most other countries prohibit drug ads; we should do the same!

Especially drug ads from the local pot dealers. They leave off the important details about side effects.

Actually, I think I may have tried some once (I presume that was what was in the apparatus), but didn't notice any effect, and never tried it again. I was always worried about long-term side effects.

During 7 years of college, I was never offered any, and didn't seek it out.

In recent years, I've heard a lot more, both in terms of positive and negative side effects. I get the impression that it should be legal, and definitely included in the list of substances available to doctors, but controlled one way or another.

Yes I have watched 4 episodes so far, it's an interesting character study, does character and ability go together, or is it that character and getting the message across go together?

Did it touch on the subject of the true author of " Einsteins Theory Of Relativity " ?

There has been speculation and some evidence produced to indicate that it was actually "Mrs Einstein" and not Mister who was the author.

It was apparently felt at the time that it would not be taken seriously if the author was known to be female.

I did just a little research, and as usual, when finding a story like this, it is totally fake news, as Ms. Maric never even passed her final exams, and was shotty at math.

Give it a derned rest. Not everything in this world is some giant conspiracy meant to confuse you. History generally happened the way it happened, and the story is already told. Some out there have there own nefarious reasons for wanting to convolute history, but I say to them: "Hie thee to the waterless places where the air is rare, and full of acidic vapors." In other words, go to hell.

Personally, I prefer to The World as I see it. by Einstein. Get it from the horse's mouth.
