Hi friend ...

You can find out more about this matter in previous topics. Amppere of copper busbar depend on a lot of conditions: ambient temperature, temperature rise, frequency in your local etc.

Now I give you a typical current ratings of copper bars. The condition of all bars free air and painted black, ratings are for frequencies up to 60hz.

I hope, you will find out your question by yourself.

Hello

I have tables and de-rating factors taken from actual testing but do not know how to attach to this reply.

Do you have e-mail or fax address?

Also be careful of bus bar bracing during short circuit.

Go to the Copper Development Association webpage. This is a group with very good data on a wide variety of copper uses from plumbomg, architecture, manufacturing, etc. Link is www.copper.org, go to electrical section and browse to bus-bar applications.

It is a good idea to over rate the bus bar. Outgoing circuits can 'burn' but bus bar should never get damage. this will cause long down time. so check the short circuit current (SCC) capacity in terms of kA. The further away you are from the transformer the smaller is the SCC - resistance. spare capacity is also good for future connections.
