Diff Betn Microcontroller Vs PLC Vs CNC MC

Ok..I'll have ago . Rough definition.

A microcontroller is an integrated circuit, essential a microprocessor with extra input/output and memory built into it. To use it it needs to be built into a circuit and have software written to make it do anything.

A PLC is is a self contained unit which probably contains a microcontroller, but has a user interface and connections for inputs and outputs..it can be programmed by the user to react to the inputs and drive the outputs.

A CNC machine is a machine which can be programmed by the user.

I'm sure someone will want to elaborate on this.

I don't like what I think I see here. (from an employers point of view)

You landed a job with no knowledge whatsoever by using a few words learned through us suckers at CR4.

Now that you have to do some work you want us to do it for you.

Incorrect PLC & CNC programming can be costly. You might ruin equipment or material or customer goodwill.

The poor employer, he seem to have bought a cat in the bag.

If I am correct please do the honorable thing and inform your employer and ask him for some in house or formal training. Also inform CR4 of your predicament - There may be liability issues.

It appears that you are really scared about starting your job. What is your role in your Factory. Operation ,or Maintenance. In either case every company in India ( Government or Private )gives induction training . More over every Machine has an operation and Maintenance Manual.Block diagrams are always provided by the machine manufacturers. Preliminary required knowledge about PLC CNC and Microcontrollers are already available in earlier threads. Get some good books on the subject which may be available in the library of your factory or available for purchase .Now what you have to do is to study the basics and go trough the machine manuals for operation and maintenance of each machine throughly . Also study the production planning and schedule of each operation of every components and operation on these machines before starting your job on each machine . It is quite a hard job no one will be able to spoon feed you through these columns. Gradually you will be able to sort out your problems. We have all learned work like that only . No one come out of collage with these expertise everyone learns after the responsibility falls on head. Best of luck.
