Pre-cool the Incoming Air Charge

07/20/2017 12:26 AM

I saw the story on the " mistbox " .

Not knowing much about it, I thought the engineers here could explain it's value.

I have a few questions :

A. What would be required to remove precipitates from the condenser's tubes and fins.

B. Is this signalling the confluence of evap & ac technology.

C. On a financial score, is the payment plan on the up and up .

These systems are problematic and unnecessary....Once the refrigerant is cooled back to a liquid, the condenser coil and fan have done their job....If you want a 16 seer unit, just buy one...

The website says, " mistbox water treatment system converts dissolved solids into microscopic nano crystals ( there's that nano word again ) . By killing all of the bacteria in the water and on the surfaces of your AC condenser, the chance of particles adhering is significantly reduced "

So, bacteria is a nano crystal ? Exactly how much is, " significantly reduced " ?

There is also the mention of, " Florida " in their verbage, could that be a clue as to where the product originates ?

Their address is : 10661 Haddington drive, Houston, Tx. 77043 1-800-481-6478/sales@mistbox.com

When i first saw this, I thought of those, " As seen on TV " advertisements.

Yeah misting condenser coolers have been around for at least 40 years, they never were worth the trouble....and now with the high efficiency units and oversize coils and 2 speed fans, completely useless....imo

Yes, but if a building has a slightly undersized unit, a Micro-Cool unit (has its own RO, so very little deposition of dissolved solids is possible), can make the difference between failure, and operation of the building at the desired set point...with at least some electrical savings. Water cost and auxiliary electrical costs go up.

You can reduce the heat load if this is the case...a coat of reflective paint or another layer of insulation, more efficient lighting, all cost reducing strategies that require no added maintenance costs and are more reliable...
