Mitutoyo - Input Tool Info Requested

08/29/2007 5:35 AM

I wish to use Mitutoyo 264002 or 264007 input tool. May I have the data format used at the gauges side as well on RS 232 port side. I also wish to have the Pinout details for the SPC cable used for digimatic 543 250 gauges. I wish to connect the gauge to PC directely. Can I do that?

Please inform me.

Regards,

See if you can find a machinists' forum. CR4 doesn't have a machinist category, only mechanical engineering. Also, there may be an Industrial Engineering site which will have the info you seek. A similar question to yours (was it you?) was asked on CR4 very recently, and got no useful replies.

If you read CR4 more carefully, you would see that someone has already asked this basic question 24 hours before you did!! Or are you even the same person, once as guest and once as you???

I believe that your answer is also there too!!

....or is there some subtle difference in the two blogs that I have over seen?

The easiest way is to buy the 264-012-10 model, it costs $150.00 and you don't need any software to handle the data because it has an USB cable, I use it with the NWA software (Northwest Analytical inc.) and it works very fine. When you push the data button the input tool send the gage measurement and a return, you can see the product overview on the link: http://www.mitutoyo.com/TerminalMerchandisingGroup.aspx?group=1372
