See if you can find a machinists' forum. CR4 doesn't have a machinist category, only mechanical engineering. Also, there may be an Industrial Engineering site which will have the info you seek. A similar question to yours (was it you?) was asked on CR4 very recently, and got no useful replies.

If you read CR4 more carefully, you would see that someone has already asked this basic question 24 hours before you did!! Or are you even the same person, once as guest and once as you???

The easiest way is to buy the 264-012-10 model, it costs $150.00 and you don't need any software to handle the data because it has an USB cable, I use it with the NWA software (Northwest Analytical inc.) and it works very fine.
