I am assuming that the questions are a language issue

A " dead man switch" is a control device (switch) which must be manually maintained continuously by an operator for the some type of dynamic action by the control system to take place. If the control is released by the operator, the system will revert to a safe state. That is, the dynamic action will stop.

"Single failure proof" is the design of a control system such that failure of any single component of the system will not prevent the system from going into a safe state.

It is otherwise known as "dead man's handle." This system calls for "always the operator should keep the hand on the switch or handle while in operation or on the move."

The moment hand is taken out, the power supply is disconnected and the system comes to a halt. Example: Electric Trains. If something happens to the Driver, he will take of his hands and the train will come to a halt. If not train will keep running, with out observing signals, track change etc.

Same way for 3 motion EOT crane, If something happens to the crane operator, he will take of his hands and the crane especially while moving a load will come to a halt. If not accident will take place.

This arrangement is to ensure safety, in all aspect and all sides.
