Good quick find but that is not a toroidal transformer.

Irrespective of the label, it would appear to be a direct replacement for the one shown in the original poster's photograph.

I don't believe that anyone offers transformers that are already burnt.

You will need to purchase a new un-smoked transformer and release the smoke yourself.

What was the application? How big (physically)? Looks PCB mounting, possibly an impedance matcher or a pulse tranny?

Before replacing the transformer make sure you have traced the problem that caused its failure in the first place least you have the same thing happen again (this could be very difficult if you cannot get access to the circuit diagrams, which is very likely if this is a simple power supply). Transformers almost never fail by themselves and so it is unlikely to be the point of the fault, only one of the more visual easier devices to see damage on.

I am assuming this is a switch mode power supply board? Is it really worth repairing or would it be better just to replace the whole power supply (they are so cheap now days).

One cannot appreciate why electronics are no longer repaired until one attempts to repair today's electronics.

....and then find that it is almost impossible with multilayer boards and unmarked custom made components and circuits which you cannot get datasheets and schematic drawings for even if you contact the manufacturer directly.

I quite honestly doubt that the manufacturer will accept an order for one transformer.

They may send one as goodwill, but maybe not.

To Gregory Love, our Original Poster: Please, is this from a welder? If yes, who is manufacturer of the machine? If not a welding machine, what it the transformer off of, and who made it? I'm not finding this EE-27 as available anywhere, I believe this is an OEM part for Lincoln (or whomever) with different stock number assigned.

What piece of equipment does the transformer come from. Is it a mains transformer or is it further in the circuit. What is the physical size of the transformer. Is it off a circuit that is used for audio. Have you checked the rest of the circuit for burnt resistors or tracks? It appears to have 4 leads. Can you measure the voltage at the input side of the transformer. Check the electrolytic capacitors (if any) on the output side to see if there is a voltage stamped on them. This will give an idea of the output voltage. It could be an impedance matching device which in all probability will be 600/600 ohms. If it is an audio output transformer make sure that the output is delivered into the correct load. IE, don't use a 2 ohm speaker if it calls for a 16 ohm speaker. I have a range of salvaged transformers but with out more information I cant say if I have one that will suit the purpose. If I do you are welcome to it.
