Looking For Chemist/Chemical Companies

05/16/2018 11:45 PM

Good evening,

I am new to this forum, and also new to the chemical world. I hope you will forgive should I have posted this question in the wrong topic.

I am based in the UK and I am trying to find a chemist/company that could produce a list of chemical compounds (reagents majorly).

I have done some research on the Internet but don't seem to get anywhere.

Where should I look?

Thank you

Lance

What the post seems to be <...trying...> to do is to get others in the forum to do this instead.

Invitation declined: .

<...Where should I look?...> Trade directories. Yellow Pages. Professional institutions' publications. Not everything is available on the internet, despite what many subscribers here might believe. Sooner or later one needs to pick up the

and do some real research. With real human beings, and not electronic portals.

Well you haven't mentioned quantities....that will have a great deal of influence on whom you should contact...Is this a one time thing?....or do you require several tons a day until further notice?

Reagents and Laboratory chemicals

The longest list of chemicals, besides the CAS library, would be the Sigma Aldrich catalog. The company is now known as Millipore Aldrich and advertises that they handle 200,000+ chemicals. That is probably a conservative estimation.

https://www.sigmaaldrich.com/united-states.html

They also have a 20+ page catalog of their catalogs.

https://www.sigmaaldrich.com/content/dam/sigma-aldrich/docs/Aldrich/General_Information/1/chemfiles_113_link_v1.pdf

Go to their site, see what they have, use copy & paste with a spread sheet or data base and you can get your list of chemicals.

Have you ever heard of 1-(4-Hydroxy-3-iodophenyl)ethanone, 2-Iodo-4-acetylphenol, 3-Iodo-4-hydroxyacetophenone, 4-Acetyl-2-iodophenol ?

It is the same as 4′-Hydroxy-3′-iodoacetophenone With the CAS no. 62615-24-1

They have been at it for a long time so be prepared for a long list(s).

Good Luck, Old Salt

Hi Lance,

Very happye to read your post and hope my answer will help you a little.

I think that if you want ours help, you had better tell us exactly what you need.

First, there are lots of chemical companies in the world with different business lines. Some of them are producing pigments and solvent dyes such as CABOT, BASF, Xinghua Pigments Group and other international gaints, while some of them are producing drugs. So you need to tell us what kind of chemical companies you want to look for.

Second, even they have the same business lines, they may have different product lines. For example, CABOT, BASF and Xinghua Pigments Group, they are all producing pigments and solvent dyes, but they will have different products. So if you want us to help you out, you need to tell us what exactly products you want further.

I hope the above information will be helpful to you.

Good day.

Hi Lance,

Thanks for your question.

There are many chemical companies in the world and some giants are similar to us such as BASF, CLARIANT, DIC, LANXESS and XINGHUA PIGMENTS GROUP, you can search on Google and check their official websites to see if they can help you out.

However, if you want our help, you had better tell us exactly what reagents you want to produce, including their applications, physical and chemical parameters. Then maybe we can offer you some more effective suggestions.

May my reply will help.

Thanks.
