Alexa is supposed to be passive,and not respond unless called by name,but it can sometimes take words out of context.
I have also read where it can hear sounds above the human hearing threshold,and a television can send commands to Alexa that a person cannot hear.
Smart TV's are listening,light bulbs are listening,soon cereal boxes;paranoia is justified.
There are tracking devices as small as a spec of pepper that can be detected if you are within a few feet,so you can be tracked every time you pass near a receiver,which are also small and virtually undetectable.
Clothing can have RFID in buttons,or sewn into the fabric.
When you enter a store,they announce a sale of your style shirt.
They also already have your account number,so a cashier will not be required.
Just get what you want and walk out.
Your account is automatically debited.
Resistance is futile.You will be tracked.
Orwell was short-sighted compared to what is happening today.
Mind reading is just around the corner.
And the thought police are already at work.
A politically incorrect thought will not be tolerated.
They have been able to construct an image from brain waves while a man is viewing an Eagle.
The resolution is not good,but these are the baby steps.
Just a matter of time before it becomes more sophisticated to the point of interpreting your thoughts.
And the sad part is, no one will care.
