Design Report

09/21/2007 11:10 AM

hello friend,

If anyone has designed a new product or any existing products for any application, please email me the entire process (ie.the problem analysing, searching alternate solutions, finding the loads acting on them, stress calculation, selection of materials, etc). I just want to know the idea about the design. We have to do for a project. My mail id is raj_m12001@yahoo.co.in

No you've got the process backwards.

you give us the design parameters & details of the shortcomings, we help you figure it out.

the way to learn to design is put the time in & do it

start out on some easier designs.

your instinct for a mentor is good.

study existing things & try to understand the reasoning behind the design.

designers or companies tend to us the same building blocks, in different configurations. I hate epuipment that has lot's of different sizes of bolts for no reason, different voltages of contrfol circuits.........

good design aways begins with an idea, solid background (education), and lots of work (physical and thought).

I am 74 years of age. I retired from Parson's Engineering Corporation, Power and Petrochemical Division (SIP) on April 1, 1998, at date that the insignificance excapes me, as a "Principle Mechanical Designer", a title for which I am quite proud. I have successfully lead teams in design and maintenance for Power plants, including some work for Nuclear power, chemical plants, and refineries. My major in college was physics/chemistry double major, however, I ran out of money in my senior year and had to go to work for a living. My love for physics began in Jr. High School and continues to this day. I enjoy my studies in Physics and do use the free course ware provide for us all by MIT OpenCourseWare. I, also, use a site provided by a friend of mine for still further education, FindaAchool. I actively support and promote continued Adult Education via Distance Learning (the Internet). I do believe that my credentials presented here are sufficient to justify the post to which you replied.

Mr.Raj Kumar (Prince). Come down from being a spoilt royal prince and learn to do your own home work. Why would anyone give you his months/years of work.
