for small turbo molecular vacuum pumps , our need is :

brushless DC motor , output power 30 watt , speed is 80 000 rpm

priority is for european applications , where we need an european motor manufacturer experienced & having bid expertise in turbolecular pumps

rgds , Ed

sorry , i forgot : wish BLDC motor supply to be 24 volts

How big do you want the motor? (Physical Dimensions) What is the diameter of the turbine/shaft you are driving? Is it a Mag Lev pump or does it run on thrust bearings?

The motor speed you indicate is very high. Several years ago I read a product release of a motor approaching the speed your application requires at: http://www.motioncontrol.com/newproducts/detail.cfm?id=1263 Perhaps by now Maxon (European manufacturer) has a product suited to your requirements. Good luck!

You might try these folks in Germany, they specialize in high speed spindle motors used in milling/drilling, but looks like they will consider making anything you want.

Hi,

this company is the most qualified in Europe to deliver high speed high accuracy bearings in Europe, it is Gebrueder Mueller Nuernberg, located in beautiful Bavaria.

Nuernberg is the city where Albrecht Duerer lived and worked 500 years ago.

The bearings of GMN are specially made for high accuracy and high speed.

Other may be manufacturers are FAG, SNF, Barden, SKF.

I have very good experience with ball bearings from GMN since now 30 years in areas as gyros for navigation, highest accuracy spindles for high speed grinding and bearings for turbomolecular pumps.

I developed for the need of a major turbomolecular pump manufacturer our "lubricant film measurement system" that is capable to measure if the supporting oil film in the bearings is intact or not. This is possible without any mechanical contact and gives a much faster development time - you don't have to wait to judge if a bearing assembly is failing. You will see this many hundred hours earlyer than established failure. And this lubricant film measurement is giving a much more reliable product as any disturbance in the bearings can be detected.

Concerning your questions about the motor this is more a question of the power supply- ask the LUST - company. The motor itself is not a problem if you can manufacture these . If you do not have the inputs necessary for a start then ask KAVO.

You can have more information on a commercial consulting agreement.

Hello,

I would like to have a confirmation or not :

I heard to speak about a norme of 5 A, for the motor of the pump.

I don't know if it concerns just for the medical or analyses or other.

Could you help me on that point !

Rgds, Ed.
