Ha! That be it, but do not despair, you have plenty of time to give us more details.

For example how where they created to begin with?

Is there a Product database in the background. Look up PDM systems:

Product data management (PDM) is the use of software to manage product data and process-related information in a single, central system. This information includes computer-aided design (CAD) data, models, parts information, manufacturing instructions, requirements, notes and documents.

Good luck!

Microsoft Word, Adobe pdf creator?

What were they created in the first place using? No point in reinventing the wheel by recreating them from scratch if you don't have to.

If there is a thing I hate in this world - it is updating the spec sheet. Man, it takes too long.

I started to use TDSmaker recently. And I became an evangelist of this software. They have something called "master templates." Let's say your company changes the logo, all you need is to change the logo on a "master template" and boom, all 100-1100000 spec sheets are updated. Cool ha?

i guess it goes to the right direction -- as the common software may pose output formatting issues

not that i've used this :: . . .

. . . never used MSO access in this computer (now it asks a product key . . . WTF -- it's the last time i buy anything microsoft )

----

help yourself https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Access (the µ$ office website can't allocate the product ??? perhaps they don't support it anymore . . . is anyway a powerful tool but requires some computer knowledge about information technology)

non µfk → http://www.openoffice.org/product/base.html -or- https://www.wordperfect.com/en/product/professional-license/ -or- (click on anything that looks what you have . . . doesn't guarantee success at 1-st . . .) https://www.google.com/search?tbm=isch&sa=1&q=powerful+database+access+tool+reports+retail

•• options ••

  • pick the software you own (might require programmer)
  • pick the software you can -or- are able to program -- e.g. connect to / import data from your "system" . . . create the spec sheet template in
  • combine all your existing resources -- share the sub-tasks among - - - a lot of text-file manipulations can be done from "command prompt" or with java/-script php etc.
