The purpose of cannabis prohibition was to prevent disrupting the cotton, pulp lumber, and petrochemical industries. The three tenths of one percent THC limit on commercial hemp effectively continues that prohibition. What is preventing the old white men in Congress from legalizing medical marijuana?

Certainly not proof that it is beneficial, which it is!

It couldn't possibly be $ big pharma,$ could it?

Well from what I've seen it's law enforcement holding up the progress, it seems that their main way of finding marijuana grows is a flyover, and you can't tell the difference between a hemp field and a marijuana grow operation....even standing right next to it....So the fields need to be geolocated on a map that shows where the hemp is growing, and for some reason that's just too much trouble....That wouldn't seem to be a problem with large hemp growers, but having small scale growers dotting the landscape, then I guess it could be frustrating....of course the answer is just to go ahead and legalize marijuana, period....
