Looking for a switch panel

10/03/2007 6:39 PM

I'm looking for a wall mounted pushbutton switch panel. I need 4 momentary dry contacts going to 4 dry contacts on a BAS. The sticking point seems to be that I can't have illumination; I don't want voltage feeding back into the BAS controller.

Has anyone seen such a beast?

Let me know.

Thanks

John

What's a BAS?

Look for pendant with four switch mounting holes and four dry contact industrial-type switches in a Grainger catalog.

BAS=Building Automation System.

Is it fair to assume that you mean Building Automation System when you say BAS?

I would suggest looking at a wireless remote option. You could use a hand held transmitter or a stationary transmitter. I am not sure where you live but I know that different supply houses will have the options available, for example CED or Kaman. I know that there are manufactures out there like Remote Control Technology, TRC, and various others that may be able to help.

Good luck with your search.

This should be very easy to build your self. Pick out a panel surface you want, metal plastic or whatever. Purchase momemtary pushbuttons or switches from a supplier like newark or mouser or some other electronics supply. Once you have the dimensions drill holes in the panel or have a machine shop do it for you. mount the buttons. get a wall mounted enclosure or box or some other method of mounting this to the wall. Run your cables, solder them to the appropriate leads. Install/mount contraption to wall. There is also probably turn-key set ups you can buy also.

Try www.barantec.com --- they have dry contact piezo switch panels - very rugged.
