Be very detailed & specific if you want an answer. We are engineers not wizards to guess . What type emulsions? quantity? specific gravity? what type pump? what flow gpm? what head? are you telling us that it will reduce energy consumption? are you asking us it will reduce energy consumption? what are you telling us or asking us????

Will pumping an emulsion reduce your pumps energy requirements? Yes,the pump's immediate energy requirements will be reduced if the emulsion has less viscosity and mass than your control substance.

"Thinning out" of the control substance produces less load on the pump. Of course because of the dilution factor the pump will transfer less of your control substance. Therefore the net result is more energy usage over time to obtain the quantity of control substance which would have been pumped without the dilution.

I find it interesting you are thinking along these lines, somewhat "out of the box". However in every case we are ruled by the laws of Physics.

My Physics instructor once said " An engineer can tell you how something works, a physicist can tell you why". Learn the"whys" and you will answer your own questions.
