Mitsubishi VFD Dilemma

10/08/2007 5:43 AM

Hi to all members I'm new here and I would like to improve my network friend.I want to put 2 VFDs Mitsubishi and I don't want to use a PLC. My dilemma is how to have jog by a push button and still be able to have run when I need it without using the little display that we use to change parameter. Also, I would like to know how can we make one VFD control the speed of the second one. Hopefully I will have the right answer I'm being hire by a company and it will the test.

Thanks all of you for your participation and support.

Sincerely

Diallo

The prints that come with the drive will explain how to wire it. Normally

a jog push button will work for the jog function. Using one drive to control another

will require the prints to figure out. Look up the model number on the manufacturers

web site, review thier prints and design your circuit.

Good luck,

James

wire it for 2 wire start/stop w/a momentary push button for jog. use the internal relay on the 1st to start the 2nd.

Also, I would like to know how can we make one VFD control the speed of the second one.

The easiest way to do that is to have the analog output set for current speed of one drive feeding into the analog input of the second drive set to use the input as the speed reference.

A lof of VFD's have either a dedicated jog input or a digital input that can be configured to be a jog button. Good luck!

hello!

depending on the model , you can make the comands by the electrical terminals, that are somewere hidden on the VFD!

in any case you must have the datasheet for thAT VFD in order to know the terminals.

they can also be usefull to command the speed , with digital pulses (ex:pwm) if you have electronics to deliver them.

they have to be set to get the electrical commands override the pc terminals.

it cannot be a simple problem, if it is for a test.

I suggest you get the more info as possible on that VFD in particular!!

cheers
