10-56 UNS Tap

Anyone know where I can buy a 10-56 UNS tap in the UK? I've tried all the suppliers I know & they can get them from the USA but I'm looking at a 3 week lead time & I need something quicker. I'm stuck with this thread as it has to match a space qualified electrical connector. If nobody can suggest a UK source I might see if our agent in the US can buy one & post it to me.

Stock and service from McMaster Carr is typically very good. One of their 10-56 UNS offerings is https://www.mcmaster.com/catalog/125/2591?2595A728. They have 2 others. I have never talked to anyone who needed to have them ship overseas but I would be optimistic that arrangements can be made.

I don't know, but remember "Threads aint just threads"!

If it's to match "space qualified", then maybe you also need to specify the type of "fit" to the mating thread f, g, h, etc for the nominated level of clearance/slop.

Yes, tried them, Found a tap on their US site & asked the UK end if they could get it but they said no. McMaster Carr have replied to say that they can ship to the UK so that sounds like my only route.

Yes, I believe in belt & braces. We've now ordered 2 taps from McMaster Carr, it's cost us $100 but that's small beans in the overall project cost.
