The first impression is that it would creep people out because it's headless and its legs are on backward.

Actually, the legs are on right, just proportioned like, say, a horse's leg.

Horses walk on their toes (hoof) and what would be our heel is halfway up the leg.

It occurred to me that when putting down or lifting a package, human legs are all wrong. The knees get in the way so you have to lean out, straining the back.

Well, they still could put a head on it so it won't be the headless horse-man.

Perhaps a small rider mounted on its back...?

Maybe just the front section, although it seems with the hind quarters it could carry more weight....

Now this has possibilities....
