Long Link Chain

05/28/2019 10:30 AM

I am trying to source a Long Link Chain in North America and having very little luck can anyone point me in the right direction?

I need a steel welded long link chain, 65mm long inside x 19mm wide inside x 10mm dia.

Several other criteria are needed.

  • Safe Working Load?
  • Is it decorative, functional or both?
  • Is it for lifting or for pulling?
  • What sort of environment is it to be used in?

And onto what is it connected - can the supplier of this give signposts?

It looks like the 65mm inside length is not a standard design in North America, they all top out less than 2 inches.

You might find that a smaller chain fabricator might be interested in adjusting their process to provide this very long link chain. Considerations as brought up by PWSlack will need to be passed on.

Probably your best bet will be to get a design that is not rated for lifting, as I suspect there are considerable test specifications to certify a chain design for lifting, which will drive the cost up.

This design could possibly need a matching sprocket. The sprocket for this link length will have a minimum diameter quite a bit larger than similar chains with similar load ratings

$11.46 per metre

OK that's 66mm instead of 65.

In the ebay search it claims to be free international shipping.

They also list in Amazon.co.UK and include address and contact details might be worth contacting them if you want a lot.

Searching for long link anchor mooring chain 3/8" in the US might also work for you.
