For £3.99GBP replacement value from some retail outlets its tempting to bin the thing and fit a replacement.

Check the data lock? On the left hand side of the SD card there is a small switch. Positioned up to record your data, when switch is down it is locked.

One thing I have noticed is that there is a lot of malware that targets SD. The malware installs itself on the SD card which it detected, and I have found it impossible to remove it by normal delete or reformat processes. You will see some unexpected folder though, if you review the contents of the SD.

You may have two different operating systems, which means that your mobile operating system may not be compatible with your laptop operating system..

Even with same operating systems but the software versions may not be 100% compatible, similar to the different versions of Androids normally loaded on mobile devices....

Once you inserted the SD card and copied files from the laptop on to the card, the original formatting of the SD card may already been corrupted..

Just my two peneth, the two small files added may have been a security lock between the SD and the machine it was connected to at the time. Unless the data on the card is vital and cannot be sorced anywhere else (You did back it up??) I would bin it and buy a new one.

Bin it is not a solution.any how if problem is there I want to know the possible solutions.

I try software for format ( like ease, SanDisk or testdisk...) Not work.

Try chkdsk and find 1 file which contains non valid link which stop it to format.

How to resolve this issue (bad sector/non valid link/corrupted files)

Contacting the <...SD Card...> manufacturer by telephone is among the many remaining options.

Something similar happened to me on Win 7 pro. It concerned an external hard drive. I failed to "safely remove hardware" and it got converted to some other format. When I plugged it in, sometimes it wouldn't even show up. I found a free app on one of the help forums and it worked as advertised.

I have a 8 GB micro SD card but I have failed to delete on and anything to it due to a file with an invalid link.

I have used most the software to remove the invalid link but failed . I have also used command prompt : chkdsk but also failed .

Please advise me

Format the Memory Card

  • Connect your memory card to your computer.
  • Click the "Properties" option after right-clicking on the drive of the memory card.
  • Leave the option of "quick format" unchecked and initiate the formatting process by pressing the 'Start' button.
  • Format the memory card by clicking the "Format" button.

Caleb
