05/31/2019 5:52 AM

Hi,

is it okay if used 85% of total Clamping force when doing production in an Injection moulding Machine?

Depends on the intended clamping needs for the tool.

A tool that only needs 50T clamp force in an 80T clamp capacity machine only needs something greater than 50T to make sure that it stays closed.

Excess clamp force could damage tooling. For instance a 50T tool in a 200T machine could be deformed by the excessive clamping force when exerted over multiple cycles depending on the tooling steel used.

The clamp force may also need to withstand the nozzle hunt force onto the tool in some rare set-ups but they would be unusual.

I agree with Just an Engineer.

You need sufficient clamp pressure to fully pack the part out (no air voids or sinking) and keep the part from flashing.

Flash (manufacturing) - Wikipedia

Beyond a reasonable safety factor, no more clamp pressure is required.
