Harmonic Test Error

06/24/2019 2:33 AM

While trying to conduct a Harmonic Analysis in (ETAP 16.0.0) for a grid model I have built , it could not be conducted as this message “ Calculation Process in OLV1 timed out” kept on showing up.

I changed the default time out of Harmonic test from (60) to different values but a new Calculation Error appeared ‘’ Harmonic calculation aborted due to numerical overflow/underflow problems ‘’ . And no matter I change the time out, the error couldn't be fixed. So What do you think ?

Clearly, the program couldn't cope with the information that had been supplied to it. So the natural thing to do is to revalidate the input information before proceeding further; if the input conditions cannot be made to work, then there is something fundamentally wrong with them.

If that doesn't work then there are three further courses of action available:

  1. Read the manual
  2. Telephone the program vendor for advice
  3. Get someone else to do the work, someone more experienced.

Beyond what PWSlack has said, it is entirely possible that an undiscovered software programming error is involved. If that is the case, then ETAP may want to get a copy of your data set the program was working on. So the suggestion #2 is very reasonable.
