On one of our ABB drives we had the memory card fail, we replaced this memory card of another drive with identical parameters, this fixed the issue. Is there a procedure on how to recover the information onto these cards, we have spare blank cards.
thank you, but not what I am after, there is an internal memory usb stick that stores the firmware and other info ,is what I needed. Found out it is no easy task to do without ABB support. (software required)
It defeats the purpose of easy replacement.
You have to buy a new memory card to replace the failed one, normal spare parts procedure would have you stock a spare memory card for each of your non-duplicated drive units especially if the memory card appears to be a weak link in the design (seems unlikely). I'm impressed the USB stick was interchangeable, could have had serial number verification to be sure the equipment control was correctly configured.
Having the spare cards factory programmed allows someone without a computer science degree to get your plant back in operation in the shortest time. If you perform an unsupported upgrade or firmware transfer on a memory card, the smallest binary error could lead to the destruction of your inverter section, then who will help you out?
The <...procedure...> may be invoked by picking up the telephone to ABB Technical Support as a first step in it.
