Leg Combinations

Dear sirs,

For any towers, many leg extension can be there depending upon land undulations as +3, +6, +9 etc.

What is meant by 'leg combinations of overhead transmission lines' ?

The legs of the transmission tower bear the weight and load stresses of the tower and lines...the design must be robust enough to withstand any computed loads that will occur during its useful lifetime...this includes weathering effects and maintenance intervals...

After you define the terrain upon which the tower must be mounted, the optimum leg combination is generally chosen from a library of standard leg extensions. Several commercial CAD software packages can assist you with this choice.
